"With shifting market demands; rising cost pressures; and mergers, acquisitions, and consolidations, health-care administrators need more and more resources to keep abreast of and find solutions to these various issues," said Dave Mangione, product manager. "Health Business FullTEXT offers specialized information resources that assist health-care administrators to be responsive to the changing times as well as to achieve a competitive advantage in the market."

Health Business FullTEXT contains cumulative full text from 107 respected publications for the health-care administrator dating back to 1990, as well as abstracts and indexing for I10 titles dating back to 1984. In this readily searchable database, users can find articles on such health-care administration topics as staffing, healthcare regulation, facilities management, marketing, finance, and others. In addition, Health Business FullTEXT is easily customizable, can be integrated seamlessly into any network, and is delivered right to the desktop.

EBSCO says it has applied expert applications during the creation of Health Business FullTEXT to enable users to derive the most value from the information retrieved by their searches. The EBSCOmed search software assists users in finding a spectrum of information on their research topics via multi-database searching, searchable authority files, links to Web sites, and hypertext linking to articles on similar subjects. In addition, EBSCOmed offers a link to EBSCO Document Services.

EBSCO says that the cornerstone of the EBSCOmed product line is its Comprehensive MEDLINE with FullTEXT database. This value-added version of the National Library of Medicine's indexed journal file employs Java programming to enhance the product with MeSH (medical subject headings) functionality.

"With a MeSH-enhanced MEDLINE, users gain the benefit of being able to simultaneously browse and explore subject heading trees," said Mangione. "This functionality enables users to see details on subject headings while still being able to view the subject heading tree, something not possible without the Java software. The Java programming also adds flexibility and precision to searching and displaying information, ultimately delivering more accurate results."

The MeSH functionality also allows users to qualify their headings further to narrow their searches to selected core concepts. …
