ISI Adds Coverage to SciSearch

Article excerpt

The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) has expanded journal coverage for SciSearch, ISI's premium science database. SciSearch offers multidisciplinary coverage of the world's top science and technology journals with unique access to cited references in both online and magnetic tape formats.

SciSearch journal coverage has been expanded in the areas of neuroscience, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology and materials sciences by 267 titles.

This additional coverage includes abstracts and journal literature on the following subjects: behavioral sciences, biochemistry, biophysics, biotechnology, cell biology, clinical neurology, genetics, heredity, materials science, materials processing, medicinal chemistry, metallurgy, metallurgical engineering, microbiology, molecular biology, neurobiology, neuropsychology, neuropharmacology, neurosciences, organic chemistry, polymer science, psychiatry, psychology, and psychophysiology.

SciSearch is the only scientific database that offers cited reference searching, a unique search technique available only from ISI. Searching on citations--the references or bibliographies published with scholarly articles--can lead a researcher to additional information about a particular subject.

Because cited reference searching is not dependent upon title, key, or abstract word matches, it enables researchers who are starting with only a few details of earlier authors or papers to quickly find current papers that relate to their work, and then to easily navigate through the vast amount of scientific literature to retrieve more relevant material. …
