A senior official described a self-evaluation that would naturally follow an undertaking as large as a war. The official said much of it would have to wait until American authorities had time to fully explore Iraq and determine what was there.

New SARS alert

CANADIAN health chiefs said today they feared four people in a Toronto hospital may have the deadly SARS virus, just over a week after the World Health Organisation dropped the city from its danger list. All four were in an isolation ward, two in a critical condition.

Four more held

FOUR more men allegedly linked to al Qaeda have been arrested in a crackdown by Saudi officials after the bombings in Riyadh last week. They were arrested for their alleged ties to 19 men wanted over a weapons cache found near the site of the bombings, which occurred six days later.

Driver verdict

A LORRY driver jailed for 11 years by a Greek court after being caught with 19 illegal immigrants in the back of his truck, was due to hear today whether he would be granted bail. David Wilson, from Bradford, who was also fined pounds 47,000 after being caught with in March, was having his case heard in the port town of Patras, pending an appeal. …
