Jacksonville's Modis Inc. announced that it is contributing to the development of an online transportation management tool for Pittsburgh Logistics Systems Inc.
The system delivers information, transportation management, and logistics services to the flatbed industry, Modis said in a news release.
The online tool, eflatbed.com, automates the dispatches by showing freight to the carriers based on prices, truck capacity, and customer preferences.
Modis was contracted to support the development of an Internet-based rating utility. The new utility will improve Pittsburgh Logistics System's ability to quickly update, audit and control the rate agreements with its carriers, the release said.
Modis is the information technology services division of MPS Group Inc. Pittsburgh Logistics Systems Inc., a Quadrivius Company, delivers global logistics solutions and consulting services to the metals, lumber, and building materials industries.
Bryan Lee has been promoted to director of human resources for Crowley Maritime Corp.
In his new position, Lee is responsible for staffing, employee relations, and business unit interface. Lee's team will perform the day-to-day human resources activities for Crowley's offices in the eastern and central United States.
Prior to joining Crowley in 2000 as Manager, Human Resources, Lee held positions of increasing responsibility within human resources in both the Technology and Retail sectors.
"Bryan has been a valued member of our human resources team for the past three years," said Rodgers. "His skills in employee relations, recruiting and retention have made him a recognizable asset to the department and the corporation."
Lee holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and is completing his master's degree at Jacksonville University. …
