A 15-year-old Mandarin boy was arrested Jan. 31 on a charge of aggravated assault after he threatened a 43-year-old family friend while holding a butcher knife in the 12000 block of Condor Drive, police said.
Police said the boy got into an argument with his mother's boyfriend at 2:45 p.m. in their front yard, and ran inside the house to grab a pair of hedge clippers, but threw them down. The boy grabbed a large butcher knife and returned outside, where he threatened to kill the man and repeated the threat to his mother nearby, police said. Then the boy went inside and sat on a sofa with butcher knife in hand, until someone else in the house took it away, police said.
The boy was arrested at the scene after questioning, police said.
