Police name woman killed in blaze with two firefighters A WOMAN who died in a blaze at a block of flats which also claimed the lives of two firemen was named by police today.

A 37-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital today after the blaze in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. In a statement Ms Close's family said: "Natalie was a lively person with an outgoing personality. We send our condolences to the families of the two firemen."

Martial arts expert gets life for jealous rage murder A MARTIAL arts expert who murdered a man with a hunting knife in a jealous rage has been jailed for life.

Paul Anderson, 26, repeatedly plunged the six-inch blade into Paul Wright's head and chest after the woman he adored left a Cricklewood pub where they were drinking with another man. Despite surgery, Mr Wright, also 26, died in hospital hours after the attack in August 2000. Anderson, of Swiss Cottage, must serve at least 13 years.

Post-war Picasso paintings set to fetch [pounds sterling]8m at auction NINE of Pablo Picasso's post-war paintings are to be auctioned at Christie's in London and are expected to fetch [pounds sterling]8 million. The collection in Monday's sale features bold portraits of Picasso's wife and lovers, including Tete De Femme Aux Boucles Vertes (A Woman's Head with Green Curls) which shows his partner Francoise Gilot, inspired by artist Henri Matisse. The sale will also include works by Degas and Chagall.
