FINANCIAL SEMINAR

VOLUNTEER LUNCHEON

The 21st annual Nassau County Volunteer Center Volunteer Recognition Luncheon will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center in Fernandina Beach.

Reservations required. Table for eight is $150, table for four $85, single small-business ticket is $35 and single general-admission ticket is $15.

NAUTICAL LESSONS

United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 14-1 in Fernandina Beach offers boating courses for novice and experienced boaters.

"ABC's," a one-day course, will be Saturday and May 13;

"GPS," a two-day course, will be July 15 and 22; and

"Boating Skills and Seamanship," will be Sept. 12 through Oct. 19; the class meets 11 times.

AARP DRIVING PROGRAM

An AARP Driver Safety Program will be 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach.

Cost is $10. Those who complete the program receive a certificate to save money on auto insurance.

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION

The Child Abuse Prevention Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Full Service School, 479 Felmor Road in Yulee.

VICTIMS RIGHTS CEREMONY

Crime Victims Rights Week will be observed in Nassau County Sunday to April 29.

This year's theme is "Victims Rights: Strength in Unity."

A victims recognition ceremony will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Nassau County Judicial Annex in Yulee.

The event will include speakers and a display of T-shirts decorated by victims of violence.

Participating agencies include Barnabas Center, Child Advocate Rapid Response Team, Micah's Place, Nassau County Sheriff's Department, Nassau County Clerk of Courts, Office of the Attorney General, State Attorney's Office, Sutton Place and others.

MONEY MATTERS

"Money Matters" consultations will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays in April at the Barnabas Center, 11 S. 11th St. in Fernandina Beach.

Topics include assessing your current financial situation, understanding fixed and flexible expenses, creating and following a budget, setting short- and long-term financial goals and establishing good credit.

Individual consultations are free, confidential and available to any Nassau County resident. …
