Angels Hit out of the Ball Park; Incas Shine in Hervey Bay and Maryborough

ONE CLUB failed to live up to its name in round six of the Hervey Bay Softball Association women's competition.

The Allstrong Angels failed to get on the board against the high-flying Incas and crashed to an 18-0 defeat at the Geoff Godfrey Softball Complex in Torquay.

Former Queensland under 16 squad member Hayley Hinchliff performed well for the Maryborough-based Incas while Jess Stephenson and Janine O'Toole were the standouts for Angels.

In the other game of the round, Goolahs scored nine runs in the third innings but it wasn't enough to prevent Terrors II from winning the game 14-12.

While Angels didn't enjoy the best of results in the women's competition, that wasn't the case in the men's.

Angels beat Pirates 12-8.

Demons lost 5-3 against Terrors in the other showdown but still ended up winning the competition points on offer as Terrors didn't field enough registered players.

The Incas club also tasted success in round four of the Maryborough Softball Association senior women's competition.

The young Incas Cobalt's impressive unbeaten start to the season continued after they beat Aztecs Apaches 12-7. …
