No Minor Effort from Incas Club

THOSE who play softball for Incas have proved to be a big hit so far this season.

The club has won all four minor premierships on offer in the junior and senior ranks of the Maryborough Softball Association.

Incas Imps won the T-ball crown, Incas Gold finished on top of the ladder in the under 12 division, Incas All Stars lived up to their name in the under 14 age group while Incas Cobalt won the race to the title in the senior women's competition.

But winning a minor premiership doesn't guarantee grand final success.

You have to get there first and tomorrow the slate will be wiped clean.

It's semi-final time on the Searle Street diamonds and anything can happen in the finals - it's all-or-nothing now.

The senior showdown will be an-all Incas clash when Cobalt takes on Silver.

Both warmed up for the right to go straight through to the grand final with wins in the final round of the regular season.

Incas Silver secured second place on the ladder after beating Aztecs Arrows 6-5.

Leeanne Murtagh (two) and Trish Mathiesen took catches for Incas Silver while Zachary Thatcher (two) and Dean Bull did likewise for Aztecs Arrows.

Thatcher and Shaun Mitchell also hit home runs.

Adam Theuerkauf was also in big-hitting form, smashing a home run to help Incas Cobalt crush Aztecs Apaches 14-2. …
