Watt Scores Place in Top Soccer Squad

ONE OF the Fraser Coast's most promising young soccer players has been accepted into a prestigious Brisbane football school.

Wondunna's Brady Watt, 16, was accepted into the Football School of Excellence Program at Kelvin Grove State College where he will play for the Brisbane Strikers under-19 youth squad.

After having a strong year with the under-19 Bundaberg Spirit youth squad, Watt decided he wanted to go to Brisbane to further develop his skills and his chances of making a career in soccer.

Watt, who attended the Football Queensland United Kingdom tour in 2009, said the college had an excellent program and he was looking forward to being part of it.

He said he was nervous but excited about joining the Strikers and his parents were sure that his dedication, perseverance and love of the game would see him go far in the sport. …
