GAYNOR JACKSON has joined the firm, which has offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester, as a partner from London-based Speechly Bircham LLP. She has widespread experience of dealing with a range of issues involving wills, trusts, personal tax planning, inheritance and estates issues. Jackson has particular expertise in advising charities on legacies and has advised a number of the country's leading national charities on trust and estates issues.

She is the author of a number of articles on charitable bequests and related issues and was the keynote speaker at the 2011 annual conference of the Institute of Legacy Management (ILM). The ILM provides consultancy, training and support services to its members, who represent more than 270 charities which between them receive two thirds of the pounds 1.9bn bequeathed to voluntary organisations every year.

And she is rated as a leading expert in her field by independent legal directories Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and is a recognised Private Client expert in Legal Experts Directory 2011.

In its 2011 guide, Legal 500 said that she was user-friendly and extremely knowledgeable on tax matters while Chambers & Partners remarked on her specialism in advising charities facing trust and estate issues in its 2012 guide to the UK legal profession.
