RUGBY LEAGUE: Young Mackay rugby league player Kyle Krisanski-Kennedy has one of the sportCOs top mentors by his side as he starts his journey to the NRL.

Last seasonCOs Dally M Medal winner Ben Barba is the current fullback for Canterbury Bulldogs, and itCOs a position Krisanski-Kennedy would love to fill one day.

C[pounds sterling]ICOve been talking to Ben a fair bit,C[yen] said Krisanski-Kennedy, 17, who was back in Mackay on holidays after spending the last two months in pre-season training with the clubCOs under-18 SG Ball squad.

Krisanski-KennedyCOs best mate, Jacob Gagai, is also training for SG Ball with Newcastle Knights, where GagaiCOs brother Dane is a centre for the NRL team.

The two played for Souths in Mackay from under-7s and have never played on opposing teams, but that may change if the Bulldogs and the Knights make the SG Ball final. …
