Cosmetic Tattoo Skill; Make-Up Artist Highlights Eyebrows, Eyelids and Lips to Enhance Natural Features

RAE Coveney's customers place their trust in her every single day.

After all, most people wouldn't let just anyone be responsible for their make-up for the next five years.

Ms Coveney opened Cosmetic Artistry in Ruthven St's Australia Arcade in January, which specializes in cosmetic tattooing procedures.

Commonly, Rae will find herself tattooing eyebrows, eyeliner on the top or bottom eyelid, and lips in semi-permanent tattoos that will last anywhere from three to five years.

It was a career path that Ms Coveney took up after working in uninspiring retail jobs.

"My tattooist in Coolangatta told me to look it up because I was looking for a new career," she said.

"I'm not getting any younger, and I was sick of working for everybody else. I wanted to find something I was passionate about, have a go in life, find what I was interested in.

"In getting clients, it's about educating people. Unless you know someone who's had it done, nobody really knows much about it.

"I can range from working with an 18-year-old to a 65-year-old cancer patient. It's about enhancing your natural featuresa[degrees] I don't do anything way out. …
