Whether it's completing a master's degree abroad, overcoming a fear of public speaking or changing career direction, Carol Alexander has developed a pattern of stretching beyond her comfort zone.
After graduating from Oklahoma State University with degrees in journalism and Spanish, Alexander went on to pursue her master's in Spanish at Middlebury College in Vermont. Following completion of that degree in Madrid, Spain, Alexander began her career as a public relations assistant for La Madeleine French Bakery and Cafe in Dallas. She worked as a reporter for The Journal Record before joining Presbyterian Health Foundation as director of public relations. From 1992-2000, she was director of development for Casady School.
Taking a chance by leaving a successful career in development to pursue her dream of providing greater individual service to others as a financial planner, Alexander began the rigorous undertaking to obtain the Certified Financial Planner certification. Today, she is executive vice president of Retirement Investment Advisors and has more than 12 years of experience in the financial planning industry. She has completed the Certified Financial Planner, Accredited Investment Fiduciary, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and Collaborative Practice certifications. She teaches a financial planning course for the Oklahoma Christian University's MBA program as well as financial literacy seminars for employees, church groups and the Women's Health Forum. …
