to guns used in

ambush shooting

A woman, 24, was arrested Friday and charged in connection with the guns used in the Christmas Eve ambush slaying of two volunteer firefighters responding to a house fire in upstate New York. The woman, Dawn Nguyen of Rochester, faces a state charge of filing a falsified business record, State Police Senior Investigator James Sewell said. Nguyen also faces a federal charge.

Bushs health improving Former President George H.W. Bush remained in intensive care at a Houston hospital on Friday, but his condition continues to improve, a spokesman said. Smoke on plane prompts return to airport Authorities say a passenger jet bound for the Washington area turned back to Albany, N.Y., after smoke was reported in one of the restrooms. Doug Myers, spokesman for Albany International Airport, says United Flight 3739 landed safely. The emergency was reported just after 3:30 p.m. Friday. There were no injuries among the 65 passengers and crew who were headed from Albany to Dulles International Airport.

Man shoots 3 at police station, is killed Police say a man being processed on a domestic violence charge grabbed a gun, then shot and wounded three officers at a police station in southern New Jersey before he was killed. Police say Eddie Jones III overpowered an officer inside the police station in the Philadelphia suburb of Gloucester Township. They say he grabbed the officers gun and shot her and two officers who came to her aid. …
