World Neighbors Conference Set Volunteers and supporters of World Neighbors will be in Oklahoma City April 6-9 for the first World Neighborhood Conference.

The program is an effort to determine how individuals can respond to the needs of the poor through 84 programs sponsored by World Neighbors in 17 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Computer Conference Scheduled The 12th Annual Southwest Computer Conference will be at the Myriad Convention Center April 11-13.

In addition, the Data Processing Management Association will sponsor a three-day educational program at Myriad during the conference.

The conference will feature an exhibition of more than 200 companies, providing the latest in computer and communications hardware and software, and a wide variety of related business services.

According to E.Z. Million, conference director, the event will be the largest since 1985.

"Our 1988 show targeted `small business,' and so in 1989 we have directed the trade show more toward the medium and large organizations, and as a result we expect to have many new exhibitors," Million said.

Attendance at the 1989 conference is expected to be more than 12,000.

Data Processing Management Association's educational program, to be underway during the conference, consist of 50 presentations of one-hour duration and two all-day seminars on leadership and decision making.

Subjects to be covered include crime, security, barcoding, software, computer viruses, system integration and related topics.

Lucid to Lecture at Southern Nazarene University Dr. Shannon Lucid, astronaut and former Bethany resident, will be the guest lecturer April 4 at Southern Nazarene University, part of the W.R. Grace Science Lecture Series.

A public colloquium will be at 3:30 p.m. for the science students and the faculty of SNU and of other state institutions, scheduled in Room 200 of the Behavioral and Natural Sciences Center at the university.

The public lecture will be at 7:30 p.m. in Herrick Auditorium, 6749 NW 39th Expressway.

Conference to Honor OU Professor An international conference organized as a special tribute to Alexander J. Kondonassis, University of Oklahoma David Ross Boyd professor of economics, will be April 19-21 on the OU Norman campus.

The conference, entitled "Economic Development in 1990s: Strategy and Policy Choice for Developing Countries," will be in the Forum Building of the Oklahoma Center for Continuing Education, 1704 Asp Ave.

Recognized as an expert on economic development, Kondonassis has taught at OU since 1958. His accomplishments are listed in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, American Men and Women of Science and the Dictionary of International Biography.
