Shinwa, which employs 22 at 10 N. Lee Ave., expects to generate enough sales to justify setting up a manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City's Free Trade Zone by 1995.
"The biggest factor is to increase each dealer's activity," said Sadamasa "Sam" Onizawa, senior vice president.
Shinwa, which set up shop in Oklahoma City in July 1988, posted sales of $6 million for the fiscal year ended Feb. 28, 1989, and projects sales to each $12 million by 1991.
Parent company Mitsui & Co., a Japanese conglomerate trading company, records annual sales of about $126 billion, Onizawa said.
About 400 dealers in the U.S. distribute about 30 Shinwa product lines, including numeric display pagers, two-way portable radios, two-way mobile radios, and tone and voice pagers which generate about half of total company sales, Onizawa said.
Shinwa also supplies products to General Electric as part of its original equipment manufacturing business.
New products introduced at the Dallas Land Mobile Show, March 28-30, include: base repeater equipment, specialized mobile radios, new model standard-size radios, new model portable radios, and wide band receivers.
Another three product lines are slated for introduction in fall 1990 at trade shows in Orlando, Fla., and Chicago.
Shinwa has already penetrated 95 percent of the U.S. market in almost every state nationwide through commitment to quality and competitive prices, Onizawa said.
Significant to Shinwa's success in boosting sales is the performance of authorized dealers who signed agreements with Shinwa in April 1989, he said. …
