A new center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City has been established to help improve public health policy and changes in the nation's health-care system.
The Center for Health Policy Research and Development, a collaborative service of the OU College of Public Health and the OU College of Medicine, will serve as a research, resource and teaching base. Co-directors are Dr.
Bailus Walker Jr., dean of the College of Public Health, and Dr.
Edward N. Brandt Jr., executive dean of the OU College of Medicine.
The center will research health policy and management issues from both a state and national perspective and will help to assess issues related to program-service design, development, implementation and evaluation.
Faculty from all areas of the university will contribute their expertise to the center's research program, Walker said. . .
