Special to The China Post--Dr. Dilip Abayasekara recently presented a series of workshops on communications and leadership training in Taiwan, beginning with the Toastmasters International District 67 Fall Conference. In addition, he gave public speaking and leadership workshops at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and MacKay Memorial Hospital.
Dilip received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering, but after 12 years in the industry, he switched his career to public speaking and leadership training. He enables individuals and organizations to "unleash their communication and performance potential" in such areas as creative thinking, sales, team building, presentation skills, customer service and public speaking.
In 2005 - 2006, he served as President of Toastmasters International, the world's largest NGO dedicated to communication and leadership training, with over 270,000 members in 116 countries worldwide, under the theme: "Find Your Voice, Serve Your World."
During training in Taiwan, he combined traditional and cutting-edge techniques, such as creative visualization, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), and applied kinesiology, to enhance learning and accelerate personal growth.
Dilip encouraged the 700 members of Toastmasters, who attended the Fall Conference, to "live a life full of meaning, significance, and fulfillment. …
