ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS

Jeffery Beam is a poet. He is the poetry editor of the literary journal Oyster Boy Review and works as the assistant to the biology librarian (Botany Section) of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Juda Bennett, assistant professor of English at the College of New Jersey, is the author of The Passing Figure: Racial Confusion in Modern American Literature (1997).

Karen C. Blansfield is assistant professor of dramatic art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also serves as production dramaturg for PlayMakers Repertory Company. The author of forthcoming books on Michael Frayn and David Mamet, she has published several articles in scholarly journals and collections.

Carrie J. Boden is assistant professor of English and general studies coordinator of Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.

David A. Boxwell is associate professor of English at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. His most recent publication, a scholarly article on cross-dressing British soldiers during World War I, appears in Modernism/Modernity.

Jim Van Buskirk, author of Gay by the Bay: A History of Queer Culture in the San Francisco Bay Area (1996), is the program manager of the James C. Hormel Gay & Lesbian Center at the San Francisco Public Library.
