Musical Description
of the Balien Chant

The balien's chant includes a verse sung by the leader, followed by a chorus sung by all the other participating baliens, consisting of the final few syllables of the verse. The melody of the chorus is as follows:

The tune in which the verse is sung uses a free-style permutation of the same notes that are used in the chorus.
