[While the Chinese-language edition in Taiwan was authorized by Yan and
Gao, they had been chided as having no "courage" in challenging the unautho-
rized editions of the work published in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan (English
translation of the first edition). To this charge, Yan remarked that it was a matter
of time and energy, rather than "courage." Ibid.]
