The Centre's programme of work aims, through research, to increase knowledge directly relevant to prevention of suicide and deliberate self-harm. Areas of concern include research into fatal and non-fatal suicidal behaviour; suicidal behaviour in young people; psychological, social and biological influences on suicidal behaviour; evaluation of strategies to treat and prevent suicidal behaviour; and investigation of the needs of people bereaved by suicide.
