1. Prepare for an upcoming interview.
2. Understand recruiter and human resources perspectives—the gatekeepers.
3. Develop a relaxing and confident mind-set on the morning of interview.
4. Be alert while waiting in the reception area.
5. Make a great first impression with each interviewer.
6. Establish rapport in the first fifteen minutes and build it throughout the interview.
7. Respond to interview questions in a winning way and ask some of your own.
8. Attempt tactics to change negative interviewer behavior when necessary.
9. Neutralize age, frequent job changes, and other difficult issues.
10. Complement a first impression with a lasting impression at the end of each interview.
11. Summarize notes immediately after each interview.
12. Send thank you notes within one day.
13. Determine how you can differentiate yourself from other candidates.
14. Obtain and use competitive candidate intelligence effectively.
15. Respond carefully to preliminary job offer inquiries.
