INDIVIDUAL DREAM SYMBOLISM
IN RELATION TO ALCHEMY
[Originally a lecture, “Traumsymbole des Individuationsprozesses,” EranosJahrbuch 1935 (Zurich, 1936); translated as “Dream Symbols of the Process of Individuation” by Stanley Dell, in The Integration of the Personality (New York, 1939; London, 1940). Jung revised and augmented the essay and published it, with other material and many illustrations, in Psychologic und Alchemic (Zurich, 1944; 2nd edn., revised, 1952). This was translated by R.F.C. Hull and published as vol. 12 of the Collected Works in 1953; 2nd edn., completely revised and reset, 1968. It is the latter version that is published here.]
