Just as the major human endeavors of law, education, religion, and various fields like literature and the study of history reveal humans’ diverse engagement with other living beings, so too do many sciences reveal that humans and other animals are connected in important ways. In this section, we look at both natural and social sciences. In combination, these important human endeavors create levels of awareness that make it possible for more and more people to recognize the depth and breadth of human-nonhuman possibilities. Further, these sciences provide much information that is relevant to how fields like law, social planning, education, public policy, and even business go forward into the future.
