ROGER I. SIMON teaches in the Department of Curriculum at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Simon has conducted research and written extensively in the areas of critical pedagogy and cultural studies. In 1991 he received the Ontario Colleges and Universities Faculty Associations [OCUFA] Excellence in Teaching Award. Simon's recent publications include Learning Work: A Critical Pedagogy of Work Education (with Don Dippo and Arleen Schenke) ( Bergin & Garvey, 1991) and Popular Culture, Schooling and Everyday Life (with Henry Giroux) ( Bergin & Garvey, 1989).
