Thirty Tyrants


Thirty Tyrants, oligarchy of ancient Athens (404–403 BC). It was created by Lysander under Spartan auspices after the Peloponnesian War. Critias and Theramenes were prominent members. It was overthrown at Piraeus (now Piraiévs) by Thrasybulus.
