News in Brief: Companies Urged to Embrace Responsibility
Top UK companies are being asked to complete the second Business in the Community (BITC) corporate responsibility questionnaire.The company-led think-tank has carried out a survey of corporate environmental practices for the past seven years; last year, it introduced a social responsibility scorecard as well.
BITC posted the second annual responsibility survey on its website last week, and urged companies to complete it. Last year, 120 companies, including about half the FTSE 100, supplied details for the responsibility index. The responsibility index aims to help companies develop their responsibility policies.
