Format: S-BIP (Student Behavior Intervention Planner) Online is a Web-based, password-accessible subscription service that provides a framework for observation and/or evaluation and long-term tracking of specific student behaviors. This online tool provides a means of tracking behaviors as an aid for developing intervention plans.

Minimum System Requirements: A computer with an Internet connection and Web browser.

The site's documentation recommends any PC with Windows 2000/ XP or Macintosh OS 9 or higher with Internet Explorer 5.2, Netscape 6.2 or Safari 1.0 or higher. (I was able to access S-BIP Online successfully using an earlier Windows version as well.)

The browser must be configured to accept cookies and must be JavaScript-enabled.

To print and download forms, Adobe Acrobat Reader is required. This software is free; instructions to download it are provided.

Description: S-BIP Online allows various educators who may observe student behavior to enter information online via an "Incident Observation Form." This data is then aggregated into several other forms and can be used to generate goals and objectives from a database, providing the documentation needed in a formal IEP (Individual Education Plan).

Content/Features: S-BIP Online is designed to speed up and improve the functional behavior assessments that are primarily used with students experiencing problems in schools. Currently, nearly everyone who is involved with a student experiencing problems either fills out a form or discusses student behavior problems with an administrator, school psychologist, etc.,--either in the process which leads to formal placement or as part of that placement. Files are kept for each student and a variety of forms are filled out.

S-BIP provides an easy-to-use, secure place to report and compile student behaviors by anyone in the building with access to the tool. Various levels of access can be granted. For example, a user may only see the Behavior Incident/Observation Form, but not the Behavior Analysis Forms or the Functional Behavior Analysis Summary Forms.

All of the reports are compiled into the analysis forms and a place is given to record and track student disciplinary actions.

Users can select goals and objectives from an online database to create an online Behavior Intervention Plan as part of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). Alternative Placement Supplement Forms are available as needed. This process and the resulting forms comply with federal laws and meet with IDEA requirements.
