Lake Park Club's Focus Is Straight, Gay Issues

In allegiance with the national gay rights movement, some students at Lake Park High School in Roselle are attempting to form a new club.
Members of the Gay-Straight Alliance hope their club will generate enough support to eventually receive permission from the school board to become official.
"We feel there's a lot of bigotry ... we want to promote understanding within the school," said Katie Pawlicki, a member of the club.
The club is not attempting to encourage any type of sexual behavior. Its mission is only to promote tolerance for gays, lesbians and bisexuals.
