Byline: By Neil Cameron
CELTIC fan Peter Beardsley last night insisted Andy Cole was the perfect striker to fill Henrik Larsson's boots and urged the Parkhead club to sign his former partner.
The fact Cole would be able to provide his old Newcastle United team-mate with tickets for games was obviously a factor in Beardsley's plea but he was 100 per cent certain Celtic would not regret taking a gamble on him.
Record Sport revealed yester-day that Cole's name has been put forward to Martin O'Neill as a possible signing when it became clear his time at Blackburn Rovers has come to an end.

They formed a deadly double act in the 1993/94 season when Cole hit an incredible 41 goals.
Beardsley is acoach at Newcastle these days but always keeps an eye on what is going on at his 'other' team.

'He's still a top-notch goalscorer and Celtic would be getting a gem.He is also a great lad.
'I would be looking for a few tickets as well. I think that's only fair after all I've done for him.
'I know as a Celtic fan what the supporters like up there and I can tell you they would take to Andy.
'Martin has an impossible task to replace Henrik. …
