Piggery Pollution Causes 'Fish Kill' in Candaba Swamp

CANDABA, Pampanga Pollution caused by rampant dumping of piggery wastes has started to kill fish in Candaba swamp in this town and destroy some 17,000 hectares of farms, mostly rice lands.
Hundreds of the affected fishermen and farmers have sought the help of Mayor Jerry Pelayo in the effort to save the Candaba swamp and its river tributaries from further contamination and destruction caused by wastes from the big Tipoco piggery farm in nearby San Miguel town, Bulacan.
