Retired General Anthony Zinni, formerly the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Central Command, and one of the most respected and outspoken military leaders of the past two decades, will motivate the audience with his tales of valor and wisdom as the keynote speaker of the American Correctional Association's (ACA) 2005 Winter Conference Annual Luncheon. His patriotism and extensive military background as a military strategist for the U.S. Marine Corps will serve as a model of strength and determination to the many corrections professionals in attendance.
Gen. Zinni joined the Marine Corps in 1961 and during a 40-year period he ascended from a young lieutenant in Vietnam to a four-star general with a reputation for candor. From 1997 to 2000, Gen. Zinni was in charge of all American troops in the Middle East, the same job held by his predecessor Gen. Norman Schwarzhopf and his successor Gen. Tommy Franks.
