Carpenter shot dead by cop

GENERAL AGUINALDO, Cavite A drunken policeman shot dead his drinking partner, a carpenter, after they engaged in a heated argument in this town last Tuesday. Police identified the victim as Apolinario Villabrozo Sr., 44, married, native of Batangas and resident of barangay Castanos Cerca, this town. SPO1 Patricio Lopez, officer-on-case, said that the incident took place in the house of the suspect, SPO2 Roman del Mundo, in barangay Poblacion at about 1:30 a.m. It was reported that Del Mundo, a member of the PNP Maritime Group, was having a drinking spree with five men when he and Villabrozo figured in a verbal tussle. The policeman suddenly pulled out his gun and repeatedly shot the victim in the body. Villabrozo was taken to the University Medical Center in Dasmarinas but he was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect fled and was hunted down by his colleagues. (Del Villanueva)
