Mailmusic: Clubber's Guide: Eric Takes Prydz of Place at Ice Factory; Mickey McMonagle's Pick of the Hottest Club Nights across Scotland

Byline: Mickey McMonagle

The Ice Factory has long been a firm favourite of mine and I never, ever missed the monthly pilgrimage to Perth for the Rhumba Club nightAnd it wasn't just the crazy antics of promoter and resident Zammo - or the after-party tales that are still laughed about to this day - that made me go back.

It was one of those clubs where everything was right and the venue was a huge part of that.

It's a massive, sprawling building with a courtyard, two huge main rooms, a downstairs bar area, an upstairs VIP bar and, of course, the legendary barbecue stand with the best burgers in the country.

I hadn't made it back to the Ice Factory for some time but when returned last week, the place was as good as I remembered.

The club looks completely different, courtesy of a massive refurbishment. It's fantastic, with slick, modern styling.

And the club's biggest asset is also still intact - the superb atmosphere.

I was there last weekend for the launch of new night Wot The Funk? with resident Iain Santos Thomson - always a good night with the speccy silver fox on hand.
