Customer Focus Delivers Results; as a Result of Investment Customers Now Have More Reliable and Better Quality Drinking Water Supplies Than in 2001
Five years a fter Welsh Water came under the ownership of Glas Cymru, the company is reporting to customers and stakeholders that progress has been good - but there is still a lot of work to do.
On the fifth anniversary of the acquisition, Welsh Water says that investment over the period has improved services that have benefited customers and the environment of Wales.
In 2001, when Glas Cymru took control of the water and sewerage utility serving 1.2m customers, there was a big job ahead. Much of the water mains, sewers and associated equipment that serve customers was old, often resulting in poor performance in terms of reliability and service standards.
