Solomon, Frank, Policy & Practice
As we prepare for our 2006 summer conference, we at the American Public Human Services Association would like to inform you that Policy & Practice has reached a milestone. For the past 18 months, we have been revamping our publication from a dry, scholarly journal into a lively magazine that talks to you in plain English. We have expanded our editorial content, albeit in much shorter articles. We have redesigned the magazine, using attractive graphics and layout to make it easy on the eye.
Most of all, we have been striving to offer you useful and usable content, things that you can apply to your daily tasks. We were determined to make the content inclusive--that everyone in public human service has a place in this publication.
To that end, we have added 11 new departments in the past 18 months:
* "My Turn" for APHSA board directors
* "Technology Speaks" for those who think computers
* "Making Things Happen" for agencies that want to showcase enterprising programs
* "The Field Works," which highlights the work and experience of frontline …
