Conference to Explore Young Adult Literature

Jenco, Melissa, Daily Herald (Arlington Heights, IL)

Byline: Melissa Jenco Daily Herald Staff Writer

A good memory and two stepdaughters makes it easy for Chicago author Laura Ruby to relate to her young audience.

"I think that first and foremost I have to say I'm blessed and/or cursed, depending on your point of view, with the kind of memory that makes it difficult to forget my own teen years," Ruby said, "to tap into all the feelings I had when I was a teenager."

Ruby will be one of eight authors featured at Anderson's Bookshop's third annual Children's and Young Adult Literature Conference from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn Select, 1801 N. Naper Blvd., Naperville.
