Big Buyers in Quest for Tyne and Wear Suppliers


Companies across Tyne and Wear are being urged to take advantage of a rare opportunity to promote their products face-to-face and discuss potentially lucrative deals.

Following the success of last year's Meet the Buyer events which saw more than 450 businesses share pounds 3m in new orders, Business Link in Tyne and Wear is again bringing together local suppliers and potential buyers.

The Meet the Buyer event offers a unique opportunity to meet and sell to major regional and national buyers from a wide range of companies.

Buyers attending this year's event include Alnwick District Council, Northumbria Police, Siemens Power Generation and Baker Oil Tools and they will be introduced to small and medium-sized local companies

Engineering, manufacturing, construction and general business services are all on their shopping lists and all suppliers attending the event have guaranteed, face-to-face meetings in private with buyers of their choice.

Andy Brown, from Business Link in Tyne and Wear, said: "We have been holding Meet the Buyer events over a range of sectors for a number of years now and they have been a phenomenal success ( bringing together local companies and buyers who are actively looking for new regional suppliers.

"These events offer a real opportunity for businesses in Tyne and Wear to attract orders from national organisations which may otherwise have gone outside of the region. …
