Football: Star Striker Healy Now Thinks Lawrie's Boys Can Handle Tag of Favourites; LIECHTENSTEIN V NORTHERN IRELAND GROUP F QUALIFIER, TONIGHT 7.15PM UEFA EURO 2008 Austria-Switzerland

Byline: By ORLA BANNON

DAVID Healy thinks it's unfair to label this current Northern Ireland side as good underdogs but poor favourites.

The record goal-scorer is ready to lead the line in Liechenstein tonight and hopeful the team will pick the three points needed to continue their dream bid for qualification to the Euro 2008 finals.

Healy said: "We've under achieved and under-performed in the past against teams we're supposed to beat but I think we've got over that in recent years.

"Take the Latvia game last October - we were big favourites going into it and while we didn't perform to our maximum we still got the 1-0 win and I'm sure if we get that on Saturday night every Northern Ireland player will be happy."

The Leeds United striker, who marked his return from a broken bone in his arm with a goal against Southend last weekend, is delighted to be back after missing last month's friendly against Wales.

"When I got the injury I was a little bit worried I might miss these games but I'm a quick healer, I've always been a quick healer," he explained.
