BIOSIS Previews Now on CDP Online Technologies

BIOSIS has reloaded the biological and medical database, BIOSIS Previews, on the CDP online service. This availability enables information specialists and life science researchers to obtain crucial references from BIOSIS Previews more quickly and easily.

BIOSIS Previews is the online version of the print publications, Biological Abstracts and Biological Abstracts/RRM (Reports, Reviews, Meetings). BIOSIS Previews links searchers to references on basic biological research, as well as experimental and theoretical research performed across all life science disciplines, including biochemistry, biotechnology, ecology, medicine, microbiology, pharmacology, and hundreds of other areas.

A new breakdown in file segments helps searchers complete current, retrospective, and comprehensive searches. BIOL includes the current portion of the database from 1985 to the present, while BIOB contains the balance from 1970 to 1984.

The following enhancements help streamline search strategy development and information retrieval:

* Limit commands have been added to facilitate rapid searching of the Abstract, Update, Year, and Language fields.

* Publication types for meetings, books, meeting reports, patents, and articles allow researchers to restrict retrieval to specific types of publications.
