WINNERS OFTHE BEAUTY OSCARS; from the Most Nourishing Moisturisers to the Headiest Perfumes, the Cosmetics Industry's Top Experts Have Worked Their Way through Nearly 200 Products and Selected Their 22 Favourites. Here Are the Winners of the CEW Beauty Awards Report Josephine Fairley

You've heard of the Oscars - well, think of these as the 'Glosscars': the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Beauty Awards are voted for exclusively by true beauty industry insiders.

For the second year, YOU is delighted to present the 22 products that have scooped one of these coveted awards, selected by 500 discerning women judges - all members of CEW (UK), the leading organisation for women working in the cosmetics industry.

For 2007, the CEW Awards (sponsored by World Duty Free and QVC, among others) spanned 21 categories - up from just 11 when the awards debuted on this side of the Atlantic last year. So deciding on the winners was a tough challenge, with 172 products up for industry recognition. And for the first time, high street brands were included alongside premium ranges.

Last year, the CEW Lalique trophy-winning products flew off the shelves.

Sales of Clarins Radiance-Plus Self Tanning Body Lotion, for instance, almost doubled after its award. Best of all, though, the awards raised [pounds sterling]4,580 for Cancer and Careers (see page 69), thanks to the companies that donated [pounds sterling]1 from the sale of each winning product - and this year, even more have pledged to take part.

Remember, to scoop a 'Glosscar', these products have impressed and been tested by the most knowledgeable women in the beauty world - from retail, cosmetics brands and the media. So here is the moment we beauty-hounds have been waiting for. And the winners are? Just read on... Y
