A SUSPECTED rapist may be charged with manslaughter after the mum he allegedly attacked killed herself days later.

Kim Corner, 34, was found dead on a deserted beach next to a vodka bottle, tablets and a photo of her eight-year-old daughter.

Five days earlier distressed Kim had told police she had been raped by someone she knew.

The alleged attacker is due to appear in court today on a rape charge.

But police yesterday said they will press for manslaughter charges as well if it can be shown that the trauma of the alleged attack had driven Kim to suicide."
