Coffee Break: Time to Face the Music and Dance; Preview Exit & out the Gate, Cardiff
A NEW double bill by award-winning choreographer Sandra Harnisch-Lacey will receive its UK premiere in Wales this month.
Following the success of their shows, More Than Just A Jelly Baby and Final Cut, which toured Wales, Europe and Canada, Cardiff-based Harnisch-Lacey Dance Theatre (HLDT) present Exit & Out.
The programme consists of two new dance works fusing contemporary dance, street dance, popping and break-dance.
The double bill includes original music by Katherine Summers and vocal percussionist "beatbox" Imran Kaiza Khan.
Exit is a mix of hip hop, break-dance and dance theatre which aims to break down the barriers of stereotypical assumptions. Can one moment determine life's pathway?
Out explores how our subconscious can physically turn itself inside out when we suffer loss.
The themes for Out are drawn from Harnisch-Lacey's own experience of loss.
