Write Stuff for Blue Peter Fans; CELEBRITY: Peter Purves Signs Copies of His Book in City

SCORES of TV nostalgia fans flocked to meet Blue Peter legend Peter Purves as he signed copies of his autobiography in Coventry.
It was a welcome return to the region for Purves, who spent five happy years living in Bilton, near Rugby.
The 70-year-old, who originally hails from Lancashire, shot to fame in the 1960s as a time travelling side-kick of Doctor Who.
He was mobbed by adoring fans of the show, who've invaded the city for the much publicised exhibition at the Transport Museum, while autographing copies of his life story, Here's One I Wrote Earlier, at Waterstone's, in Smithford Way, on Saturday.
Though he went on to present such cult shows as Kick Start, and Crufts, the much loved actor and presenter will always be remembered for hosting Blue Peter with Valerie Singleton and John Noakes.
