If That Bad Smell Is Your Attitude, Change It, Please?

IF I had a magic wand, what would I change about our region?

Better roads and public transport, more shops and seven-day trading, greater variety of takeaway food?

I know one thing for sure: No matter what I pull out of your hat, it's never going to have an impact unless we have people with the right attitude to support it.

Do you agree our region's biggest disability is the attitude of some of its people? "Sometimes you can't change the direction of the wind but you can adjust your sails to reach your destination."

Let's take the Music Bowl. We all know it as the venue for our Christmas celebration, singing along with candles. It's a great event at a great venue but when it does get used for its intended purpose by local bands? People complain about it being too noisy. As a result, they can't use it on weekends after 5pm.

I bet no one would complain if we turned it into "markets", where everyone could sell their junk and listen to the banjo and accordion, even if it started at 5am!

How about we demolish the Music Bowl, make proper use of its massive landscape and turn it into a high-performance, driver training facility or even racetrack? What about a multi-million dollar theme park with roller coaster and all?
