School Art in City Galleries; Budding Artists to Be Recognised in Exhibitions

BUDDING artists from schools across Merseyside are taking over some of the city's art galleries.
Schoolchildren from Liverpool North, Knowsley and St Helens will display some of their best artwork over the next three months.
They are taking part in Reclaim Your Space, a series of different exhibitions showing at the Bluecoat, World Museum, the Walker Art Gallery and Tate Liverpool.
All the artwork was created as part of 'Find Your Talent' aimed at helping young people to get five hours of cultural activity each week.
The Bluecoat is opening today with a series of light box installations created by students at Sutton High Sports College in Knowsley.
They explored a technique using pallet wrap to create layers of multimedia using paint and scrap materials to create the unique artwork.
Bec Fearon, head of participation at the Bluecoat, said: "Every budding artist thrives on the opportunity for their work to be seen by the public and we hope that the young artists will gain something special from seeing their work in such a prestigious setting. …
