Stakeholders to Craft Strategic Plan for Occupational Safety
DAVAO CITY, Philippines (PIA) - To promote a safe and healthy work environment, safety practitioners from various Mindanao regions are expected to gather in this city to formulate the Safework Mindanao - a five-year strategic plan document for occupational safety and health (OSH) and employees' compensation concerns in Mindanao.The planning activity is an offshoot of the joint resolution made during the 3rd Mindanao OSH Summit held recently in Dapitan City in its pursuit to create One-Network for Mindanao composed of the different OSH Networks of Regions 9, 10, 11, 12, Caraga, and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and other health and safety organizations like the Association of Accredited Safety Practitioners in the Philippines.OSHNet 11 president Abdon Patagoc Jr. said that "Safework Mindanao is an innovative strategy of OSH advocates and practitioners, whose framework is to preserve the most important assets in the industry - the Human Resources.It is one structure in the promotion of Safety and Health in Mindanao in the Occupational Safety and Health protection, where most of the industry particularly the small and medium enterprises, including the informal …
