Environmental Concerns over Developments; Consultants See Opportunity for Risk Management

GLADSTONE is at the forefront of industry in Australia and is being watched around the world regarding the protections that industry and government put in place to protect the social fabric of its community.

CQ Consulting (CQCG) is an environmental, planning and engineering consulting company providing services, including environmental and planning approvals, environmental management systems and contaminated site investigation.

CQCG senior environmental consultant Cathee Miller said the company had been providing services throughout Central Queensland, including Gladstone, from their head office in Rockhampton since 2003, but they were moving to Gladstone.

C[pounds sterling]CQCG is establishing the new office in Gladstone given the location preference of several new staff and to provide the Gladstone region client base with greater accessibility to environmental services right here in town,C[yen] Ms Miller said.

C[pounds sterling]CQCG's role as an environmental consultant is to provide a clear understanding of the key values of the environment, likely impact and potential risks of a project and advice accordingly on measures to avoid, mitigate or offset environmental harm.

projects must proceed for the benefit of the Queensland economy and lifestyle, as

well as to provide the products and services we all demand.
